Justin Racine

Heaven gained an infectious laugh, a strong (Sugar) bear hug and an incomparable sense of humor when on November 16, 2019 Justin Andreae Racine found eternal peace.

A fiercely devoted father, a protective brother, a loving son, and a trusted friend, Justin touched the lives, for the better, of everyone he met.

Always quick with a joke in any situation, it’s no surprise to many who knew him that Justin entered the world on April Fool’s Day 1973 in Jackson, MI. Born to Judy (Mead) and Jerry Racine of St. Clair, MI., Justin was the welcomed baby brother to big sisters and Irish twins, Jacqui and Jennifer (Deter) Racine. The family relocated to Harbor Springs in the late 1970’s where Justin eventually made is mark at Harbor Springs High School by playing football, basketball, soccer and hockey and graduating in 1991.

Preceeded in death by his mother, Judy, family and friends take comfort knowing that mother and son have been reunited along with dear friends who also were taken far too soon.

Justin is survived by his two young daughters, Gabrielle Astrid and Genavieve Antoinette Racine of Delray Beach, Fl., father Jerry Racine of Harbor Springs, sisters Jacqui Racine of Traverse City, Jennifer (Deter) Racine and brother in law Jason Saddison of Harbor Springs; aunts Jacqueline Farrington of Harbor Springs, Musette Michael of Chicago, Mary Ann Fussner of Deerfield Beach, FL, Nancy and Kevin Sturtz of Marysville, Mi and uncle Jon Mead of Harbor Springs. Justin is also survived by his loving companion Karen McCarthy as well as many cousins and a dizzying array of amazingly loving friends who continue to share stories in Justin’s memory.

A service is planned for November 30 at 11:00 at Holy Childhood of Jesus Catholic Church in Harbor Springs. If you would like to honor Justin’s memory, you may contribute to the GAR Fund at St. Francis X Federal Credit Union, a fund set up for his daughters.
